I read an online article regarding Logan Lerman and Emma Watson staring for a movie based on Stephen Chbosky’s The perks of being a Wallflower. Crazy rumors are also up online containing spills that the one of the film locations is going to be here in the Philippines, somewhere in Sta. Ana Manila as I recall. I double checked it on IMBD and concluded that it’s another baseless issue founded by some jerks who want to see fans die in vain waiting for there favorite movie stars to actually come over the country. I have heard so many great reviews about the book on goodreads.com and had thoughts of getting a copy of it for myself. To my disappointment, Power Books and National bookstore don’t have it on their catalogs when I checked. But hey Fully Booked already has it! I must give them a call to check if their Gateway Cubao branch have it on stock. ![]()
I missed seeing Emma on screen and my anticipation for this film is an evident result of my Potter series hang-over. Aside from that, Logan Lerman is a New class Hollywood boy crush of mine which is probably caused by his remarkable appearances in Percy Jackson and the Olympians: The lightning Thief, Gamer and My one and only. And oh, Ezra Miller is so damn hot I can’t help but swoon like a teenage bopper as I type his name on this blog entry! I feel like biting him like Grrrr. (Okay, this is officially making my blog sound a little bit sensual and awkward.)

I can honestly relate to the plot. I mean, who wouldn’t? Every teenager will waft in a particular moment in time, feel seemingly nostalgic as if they have seen themselves in a third person’s point of view. If you are like me who have had experiences of being on the sidelines when everyone else is on action, committed stupid actions and regretted them later, you’ll probably find the book and the film way interesting, because after all being a wallflower does present it’s own advantage

I should remind myself more often to constantly repost whatever I put on my facebook account into my wordpress for the sake of reducing time lapses between blog entries and posts. Anyway, I posted the French perfume add for Decibel 9 days ago after swooning over Julian’s sexy stage dive like a pathetic teenage bopper.
This is the official perfume ad. The song is entitled I LIKE THE NIGHT which Julian especially wrote for this endorsement.

While surfing for some indie news over the net this afternoon, I came across this article that was freshly posted on ny,mag’s website and it made my day (ny.mag article) I found a longer clip for AZZARO’s DECIBEL and a behind the scene video of Julian’s I LIKE THE NIGHT recording in L.A.
The longer version of the ad features different angles of Julian. I can’t wait for this song to be released. I’m going to put it on my playlist and have it on replay for like … for a long time and maybe imagine Julian on a stage dive ha-ha
Until next time!

LONG VERSION: THE NEW DECIBEL AZZARO TV COMMERCIAL
JULIAN CASABLANCAS — THE MAKING OF DECIBEL AZZARO SONG “I LIKE THE NIGHT”

I recently downloaded Explosions in the sky’s 2011 album “Take Care, Take Care, Take Care”. I totally dig the feel good theme all right! Anyway, this interesting 10 minute video is about a furry alien who got lost on earth and tries to fit in along with humans. Yes, I love aliens and Explosions in the sky is way better than your doctor prescribed sleeping pills, or better yet, binaural theta beats.

I wrote a month old blog about STROKED: A tribute album to Is this it just to remind my self to make a review about it soon. Eventually, the real denotation of ”soon” within my vocabulary is synonymous to this statement: ” to perform a task whenever I have no available excuses not to”. My related blog to this post, Note to self: Write a review about STROKED (tribute album) tells about my pre-mature infatuation to the album upon first listening to some of the tracks right after the release on STEREOGUM. Here are my top picks from the tribute album that I’m sure any indie fan would most certainly love.
1. LAST NIGHT (Cover) by THE MORNING BENDERS
I’m having a little band crush on the morning benders. I feel a little joy in my heart whenever I hear Chris Chu sing. <3 The band’s take on the strokes’ original is so amazing I personally think this is the best song on the tribute album. This song makes me want to dance like no one is looking.

2. BARELY LEGAL (Cover) by REAL ESTATE
When I first heard this song, I totally liked the indie feel. This song would be a perfect road trip soundtrack on a weekend getaway.

3. HARD TO EXPLAIN (C0ver) by OWEN PALLETTE
Not a lot of people like this song and I really don’t know why! The violin, piano and Pallette’s classical voice made this song elegant. I’m a huge Jason Magbanua fan. I’ve seen his same day edit video in my cousin’s wedding and his other works on vimeo. A wedding scene was the first thing that popped up into my overly saturated head when I first heard this. Pallette’s take on hard to explain is plausible for an awesome but unique wedding entourage song!

4. SOMA (Cover) by FRANKIE ROSE
I really like the original version of soma, but I think Frankie rose gave justice to this wonderful song.
________________________________
5. MODERN AGE (Cover) by CHELSEA WOLFE
This version of modern age is completely different from the original. Chelsea Wolfe’s version is absolutely distinguishable from all of the other songs from the tribute album. Although It kind of crept me out a bit when I first heard it. I had this song on replay ever since because it’s fun to listen to.
So there you have it, those are my top picks from STROKED. Please check out the album. All of the tracks are up for free downloads on STEREOGUM. Until the next review! -tin

This is another late post as usual. The shoot for this short film/MV was commenced last August 18, 2011 in the house of Ate Joyce Opina located in a subdivision in San Pedro Laguna. The house is owned by the older sister of Agnes and since no one occupies the house at the moment, we had our shoot there. This short film/MV was supposedly for the Touch Korea contest my friend Agnes originally aimed to join. In the end, the video was not submitted.
At first, I was a bit regretting that she never joined the contest due to her academic responsibilities in school. I worked so hard for this video, directing and editing wise. I had pains all over my back and spine because I relocated the pots near the brick post to get her continues revolving shot done right. I haven’t slept in nearly 2 nights to get the sync of the dance steps with the sound overlay, to beautify the typography transitions and to get away with some flaws in the video itself.
But nonetheless, the video shoot was all fun … and more importantly, my friend Agnes had the popularity she deserved. We also had a zombie shoot after we finished shooting the clips for the I LOVE KOREA short film which was conceptualized by my other friend Mae who also did the make-up. Kim also known as TKO did the camera jobs for the video and photo shoot. While the super late comer Ryan was tasked to be a production assistant. (Actually, he was more of a tagaluto than a production assistant, he cooked the noodles without even washing the utensils before using them
)
At the end of the day
it was all fun!
I’m anticipating another awesome shoot with these people and the rest of my high school friends.
Until the next shoot!

Okay so it’s Julian’s b-day today and making a post such as this one would only make me look like a desperate girl looped on a never-ending fan-girling sequence … nonetheless, I don’t mind because I simply don’t have the leisure to. I’ve been a huge fan of The strokes ever ever since not because Julian is hot (well anyone who would raise a contradiction is undoubtedly homosexual) but because this guy has intellect and talent.

The strokes is one of the best garage bands in the music scene that warrants respect and appreciation
… I speak in behalf of the fan club. Ha-ha
Seriously, if you haven’t heard of them, then you just missed half of your life! Try listening to one of their albums and you’ll instantly be sucked into a fancy.

P.S.
The band has always been my laptop wallpaper for the past years ha-ha-ha
And I’m not ashamed to admit that I sometimes put their songs on replay and listen to them until I fall asleep … FUCK YEAH! More birthdays to come

I never thought sewing some wardrobe to fit me is a tough job to do … well not as hard as using wordpress on my mobile as I am reluctantly doing now. Together with some highschool friends I’ll be embarking on a photo and videoshoot because of a friend’s request. I haven’t done a shoot in the past months that’s why my hopes are raised up pretty high that this one will end up great. We found a perfect location for this thursday’s shoot that will be eventually feasible for our future projects for later on this year.
So for now, I’ll quit hitting the keypad of this mobile and stick with the sewing. And maybe I could get a hang of it and be a milliner in the future. Heck, maybe not!

A must watch video from a band that people must have a crush on! Grrrrr!
In order to become a full-blown critic one must not only indulge on a craft’s cons but also highlight its pros. I always run under self-proclamation that I’m a music video buff — but being one is not entirely based on watching videos alone. . Appreciating art entails internalizing the message of the artist and becoming a parcel of the story — in a sense that as the audience creates visual perspectives, emotional perspectives are created likewise.
Obviously, this video’s plot is dark and mainly strange. Well, considering that most and luckily not all of the music videos on cable TV are all but utter stupidity and disappointingly zeroing on narrow depth of entertainment, (which is obviously, a big hit for everything mainstream) this music video is a stand-out and definitely CREEPY. Yep, It scared me a bit though, but the concept itself is epic.
Anyway, To Kill a Petty Bourgeoisie is an ultimate Indie band crush of mine. I saw this video a couple of years ago when I was google-ing the correct spelling of petty bourgeoisie for my Educational discussion of Karl Marx’s Superstructure (that was way back when student activism was burgeoning tight on my vocabulary). Although this band has extremely nothing to do with the leftist, I find this band really awesome! I mean really fuckin’ awesome. If you’re going to ask me how they sound like, they’re undeniably comparable to the sound of Bjork nice electronic and guitar distortion inputs, but on the less eclectic side and perfectly on the apex of avant-garde rock. I’ve listened to a few tracks of their album “The Patron” and it literally freaked me out. If you’re home alone and want to listen to something good and out of the ordinary things on MYX and other music blogs, To Kill a Petty Bourgeoisie is a must listen.
Until the next review!
